HiQ BTCC night for North East fans (From BTCC.Net)

Drivers Harry Vaulkhard, Alan Taylor and Martyn Bell will all welcome fans to HiQ’s Meynell Road store in Darlington next Thursday (29 May) for an evening of fun ahead of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship’s rounds at Croft.

Vaulkard (Newcastle), Taylor (Whitley Bay) and their team, Boldon-based Robertshaw Racing are all from the region and on display will be their Chevrolet Lacetti and Honda Integra BTCC race cars.

For Barrow-upon-Humber driver Bell, Croft is also very much a home track and he will join Vaulkhard and Taylor from 6.30pm-8.30pm to sign autographs and answer questions for enthusiasts.

Admission to this, the fifth motor sport forum to be staged by BTCC title sponsor HiQ, is free. And HiQ will also lay on food and drink for the public and give away ten pairs of tickets to go and watch Croft’s BTCC action on Sunday 1 June. Race simulators will add to the entertainment.

For the Robertshaw team, Croft will be its first race meeting in front of its home crowd as part of the BTCC grid. And it will surely be chasing a strong performance at Croft after Vaulkhard scored his first BTCC point at Thruxton last Sunday.

Bell will be hoping Croft is where he can open his 2008 account as well, the Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch he drives for the Arkas Racing/Sunshine.co.uk team having always performed strongly at the North Yorkshire circuit.
